Polynucleotides like Plenhyage, Plinest & Nucleofill

16/05/23Polynucleotides like Plenhyage, Plinest & Nucleofill

What are Polynucleotides (PNs)?

These are natural DNA molecules extracted from salmon or trout sperm that are so purified that the DNA fragments are the same as human DNA. This product is injected into the skin and has been used since the 1950s for burn and wound healing.

How do they work?

They create a surge of fibroblast numbers and activity. These cells create collagen and elastin that are the building blocks of plump and resilient skin. They also produce lots of hydration (hyaluronic acid) in the skin.

What areas can be treated?

PNs are particularly great around the eyes and mouth, as these areas are prone to lost elasticity as you age. Aged, scarred and stretch-marked skin responds really well to the tightening and moisturising effects of PNs. There is also good results from Plinest Hair to improve hair loss.

This lady had 2 treatments around her eyes, however better results are seen if 3-4 treatments are given.

Is it painful to have this treatment?

As really fine needles or cannulas are used there is minimal discomfort. However topical numbing cream is always administered prior to injection. There is also the option to have a vibrating device that has been shown to help with the discomfort of needles piercing the skin.

How long do the results last?

Results last 6-12 months but this will depend on your lifestyle and rate of aging.

What is the aftercare?

Strict application of SPF for 2-3 weeks. No makeup is advised for 12 hours. No lasers or excess heat for 3 weeks.

Are there any contraindications?

Do not use if you are pregnant or intending pregnancy. The long-term data collected over 70 years show that there are no problems in using this product even in those with autoimmune conditions, however please consult with your Aesthetic doctor about the safety of this product for you.

Are there any side effects.

As with any injections expect redness, swelling and bruising.

How much does it cost?

This depends on the advice given at your consultation. Procedural costs are from £350 upwards. There are multisyringe discounts if administered at the same sitting.
